What's for dinner tonight? Crockpot BBQ Beef

When school comes so does the crazy hectic schedule of fall!  I have two daughters.  My oldest one is starting high school, is on the drill team and does year round competitive swim team which requires practice 3-4 nights per week.  My youngest daughter is in 5th grade, plays on a competitive soccer team which practices 2 nights a week plus plays volleyball.  The family dinner routine is the hardest from mid August until the end of October.  Therefore I have created and discovered many crock pot recipes that allow for quick and easy grab whenever we are ready, sometimes all at the same time, sometimes here and there.

Tonight that meal for my family will be Crock Pot BBQ Beef

Place a 2-3 pound roast of any variety in a crock pot (use a crock pot liner!) sprinkle with garlic powder,  onion powder, a can of beef broth (or use beef granules dissolved in hot water), a tablespoon or two of liquid smoke and a little Worcestershire sauce.  Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.  Remove the roast to a cutting board, pull out a cup of the drippings and then dump the rest out. Shred the beef using two forks, put it back into the crock pot.  Combine with bbq sauce of your choice and enough of the drippings to make it the right consistency.  Keep warm in the crock pot until ready to eat.  Serve on hamburger buns.
